Two people have been shot dead in a town in western Germany.
The victims - a man and a woman - were found at a house in the centre of Espelkamp with one inside the building and another outside, police have said.ADVERTISEMENTi-amphtml-sizer">
Officers initially said the gunman had 'run amok' but now believe it was a targeted attack, with Blid reporting that the suspect shot his ex-girlfriend and her brother.template type="amp-mustache"">>/amp-minute-media-player">>
The suspect was initially thought to be on the run and armed, but police now say there is no danger to the public.
Local media report a huge police presence in town, with the centre on lockdown and a helicopter hovering overhead.
Specialist SEK commando units are now on scene and looking for the attacker, officers added.
Germany was hit by a shopping centre shooting rampage in Munich in 2016 when attacker David Ali Sonboly shot dead nine people.
At least 35 people were also wounded during the attack, which began at a McDonald's franchise and ended with the gunman turning his 9mm Glock pistol on himself.
