Angelika Stebbings will be in charge of the global acquisition of high-end documentaries and factual series for Autentic’s sales catalogue. She will be the key contact for all producers seeking a distribution partner for productions in all stages. Also new to Autentic is Birte Zywko, who joined the company in July and is tasked with sales in France and Benelux, Nordics and the UK, LATAM, Spain and Portugal as well as the U.S. and Canada. She brings to Autentic more than 20 years of experience in global non-fiction content sales.
“The content demand is high and it’s getting more difficult to source factual programs with the quality we need for our clients. I am thrilled about the expansion of our team with those absolute professionals in their fields. With the expertise of Angelika and Birte we can evolve with the ever-changing market and continue to curate top-notch factual productions for our sales catalogue and channels,” said Mirjam Strasser, Autentic’s head of sales & acquisitions, in a release.
Greenwich picks up art doc
Savior for Sale
New York-based indie distributor Greenwich Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to the new documentary Savior for Sale: da Vinci’s Lost Masterpiece?, produced by Zadig.
Directed by Antoine Vitkine, Savior for Sale (pictured) premiered to rave reviews during its April release in France. The film explores the unknown side of the art world, tracing the story of the painting Salvator Mundi (The Savior of the World), which was attributed to Leonardo da Vinci after its discovery and sold at Christie’s for a record $450 million in 2017, making it the most expensive piece of art ever. But some believe the painting isn’t really the work of da Vinci but rather one of the greatest scam’s the art world has ever seen.
Greenwich will release Savior for Sale: da Vinci’s Lost Masterpiece? on September 17.
