"A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern Windham, northwestern Bristol, northern Kent, Providence and northern Bristol Counties through 1130 AM EDT," the Weather Service said.
At 10:50 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Killingly, or near Plainfield, Connecticut, moving east at 40 mph.
"Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Providence, Fall River, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket, Taunton, East Providence, Coventry, Cumberland, North Providence, West Warwick, Johnston, North Attleborough, Bristol, Plainfield, Attleboro, Mansfield, Smithfield, Lincoln and Central Falls.
Earlier this morning, the Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Rhode Island.
The storm was over Woonsocket at 9:28 a.m. and bringing quarter size hail.
Northeastern Providence County is included in the warning.
