Jackson State Vs. Bethune Cookman Football Video Highlights, Final Score

The Jackson State Tigers welcomed the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats to Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Jackson State defeated Bethune-Cookman, 42-12.

The Tigers, who were without head coach Deion Sanders on the sidelines for the first time this season, won their fourth game in a row and remain undefeated in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Sanders took the day off to recover from foot surgery and appointed running backs coach Gary Harrell to lead Jackson State (6-1, 4-0 SWAC) in his absence.

With the loss, the Wildcats (0-8, 0-5) are still looking for their first victory of the season.

The Tigers wasted no time in extending their lead over the Wildcats after halftime. Junior defensive back Isaiah Bolden caught the opening kickoff of the second half at the Tigers' 6-yard line and, with a little help from his teammates, returned the kick 94 yards for a touchdown.

Bolden, who transferred to JSU from Florida State in 2019, ran the last 50 yards of the return untouched and pulled out some dance moves while celebrating the touchdown with fellow Tigers.

After his brother set up the Jackson State offense in the red zone with a huge interception return in the final seconds of the first half, Shedeur Sanders and Malachi Wideman connected to give the Tigers a two-score lead. Wideman broke free from a Bethune-Cookman defender on a slant route, and Shedeur Sanders delivered a strike into the end zone for the touchdown.

Wearing his father's No. 21, Shilo Sanders certainly made Deion Sanders proud when he intercepted Bethune-Cookman's Shanno Patrick late in the first half and racked up 55 yards on the return down to the Wildcats' 4-yard line. The sophomore defensive back was aided by his teammates' blocking on the return and juked out a couple of would-be tacklers en route to the red zone.

Deion Sanders' son showed that "Prime Time" runs in the family with a 17-yard scamper into the end zone to give Jackson State its first lead of the afternoon late in the second quarter. The Bethune-Cookman offense crossed into Jackson State territory with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter when pressure from the Tigers' defense forced quarterback Devin Black to loft a pass a bit too high into the air. JSU freshman defensive back Cam'ron Silmon-Craig easily jumped the route and snagged the ball out of the air at his team's 19-yard line. Silmon-Craig tacked on an 11-yard return after the interception, allowing the Tigers to take possession at their 30-yard line.
